fears in the workplace today is the threat of violence. Violence
is the 3rd leading cause of workplace fatalities in this country. These
fatalities are caused by:

However everyone in
the workplace is now at risk. Threats and incidents of workplace
violence are on the rise. Downsizing and reengineering also lead to
incidents of workplace violence. The fear
of violence sows suspicion, increases stress, and diminishes an
organization’s ability to deliver its products or services.
As a result, workplace
violence is an important safety and health issue. Being able to recognize the high risk
individual and to understand why violence occurs is important to preventing
violence in the workplace setting.
