When workplace violence becomes an issue in your organization...
It will be too late!

For good reason, one of the biggest fears in the workplace today is the threat of violence. Violence is the 3rd leading cause of workplace fatalities in this country. These fatalities are caused by:

  • Employees
  • Former co-workers
  • Customers.
  • Spouses, lovers, or ex-lovers

Those who are at greatest risk of experiencing workplace violence include:

  • cashiers

  • receptionists

  • counselors

  • security guards and law enforcement personnel

  • health care workers

  • teachers

However everyone in the workplace is now at risk.  Threats and incidents of workplace violence are on the rise.  Downsizing and reengineering also lead to incidents of workplace violence. The fear of violence sows suspicion, increases stress, and diminishes an organization’s ability to deliver its products or services.

As a result, workplace violence is an important safety and health issue. Being able to recognize the high risk individual and to understand why violence occurs is important to preventing violence in the workplace setting.

Our WorkSafe® program is designed to create awareness of the issues related to workplace violence and to provide tools to help recognize, defuse, and prevent it.  Discussions and practical demonstrations will cover:

  • The causes of violent and aggressive behavior,

  • The destructive results that even mild forms of aggression can create,

  • Identifying potential risks and potential behavior

  • The warning signs of those who might pose a risk to a safe and secure workplace

  • Conflict resolution techniques

  • Developing a workable workplace violence policy and crisis management team
